Settings sits at the bottom of every area's sidebar (visible to moderators + realm admins only). It's a single long form with six sections.
Section 1 — Core details
Name (required) + Subtitle. The supported person's name, or whatever your realm uses, plus an optional tag like a room number or care category.
Section 2 — Style options
Colour — pick from Red, Blue, Yellow, Green. This colours the area's tile on the dashboard and the avatar ring inside the area.
Avatar — toggle between a built-in avatar (choose from a person-avatar grid) or a custom uploaded image.
Note — Avatar uploads accept PNG / JPG / GIF. There's no description editor in Settings today — the area has a description field in the data shape, but no UI form for it.
Section 3 — {{Area}} utilities
A drag-reorderable list of every app, each with an on/off switch. Turning an app off hides it — it doesn't delete the data.
Includes a Reset utilities to their default button — useful when an area was created before Inbox / Workflows / Calendar were available and you want to re-derive the full list.
Section 4 — Permissions
Where access is granted — see Who can see this area.
Section 5 — Dashboard settings
Pick the layout (Default / Noticeboard / Forms / Utilities). When Default is selected, seven widget toggles appear:
Welcome Message, Noticeboard, Unread About Sections, Latest Form Entries, Reminders, Last Diary Entry, Recent Activity.
When Forms is selected, the Featured Forms multi-select + a "Recent submissions" count input appear.
Section 6 — Archive
Red Archive this {{area}} button at the very bottom of the page. See Archiving an area.
Heads up — Settings changes don't apply until you click Save changes on the sticky bottom bar. If a member is on the area when you save, they'll see the change on their next page reload.
