Photo entries

Add a photo with a short caption — straight from the camera on mobile.

Photo entries are the quick-capture alternative to typed entries. Useful for "spotted this skin mark this morning" or "Joanne's art piece from today" — anything visual that's worth a thousand words.

Adding a photo entry

  1. Click New diary entry in the header.

  2. In the chooser dialog, pick Upload a photo. On mobile your camera / photo library opens immediately.

  3. Pick the image and confirm. A caption field is available — keep it short.

  4. Submit. The photo appears as a diary entry at the current time, attributed to you.

Note — Photo entries are diary entries — they appear in the same feed, count toward the day's entry total, and follow the same lock/edit rules as text entries.

When photo uploads are disabled

Your realm admin can disable photo uploads in Diary configuration. When disabled:

  • The chooser dialog is skipped — clicking New diary entry opens the text editor directly.

  • Inline image upload inside the rich-text editor is also off.

Heads up — Photos are part of the legal record once submitted. Get explicit consent before photographing a supported person, especially their body, face or possessions. Follow your service's consent policy.
