The controlled drugs register

Carerealm keeps a separate controlled-drugs register alongside the main MAR. Every transaction (received, administered, disposed, returned, stock-check, adjustment) is logged with its own audit trail and running balance.

Registering a CD

1. Add the medication via Medications → Add. Flag it as a controlled drug and set its CD schedule (2-5).

2. Open eMAR → Controlled Drugs.

3. Find the medication and click Register.

4. Set the starting balance (default 0).

5. Save. The medication is now in the CD register; the running balance updates with each transaction.

Schedules

Note — Whether a witness is needed is configurable per-medication via requires_witness — Carerealm doesn't infer it from schedule. Set the flag deliberately per medication, following your local policy.
