Sending a message

Composer features: rich text, mentions, attachments, paste, voice notes — and ⌘+Enter to send.

Open a channel or DM; the composer is at the bottom. Type, format, and send.

Sending

  • Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows) sends.

  • Plain Enter inserts a newline. Useful for multi-line messages.

  • The Send button (paper-plane) sends too — labelled "Send (⌘+Enter)".

Formatting

  • Bold / italics / underline / inline code via toolbar or keyboard shortcuts.

  • Code blocks with syntax highlighting.

  • Lists — numbered and bulleted.

  • Links — paste a URL or use the link picker.

Mentions and emoji

  • Type @ to open the person picker. Carerealm offers everyone with access to the channel.

  • Click the smiley face to open the emoji picker.

Note — There isn't a :-shortcut for emoji today — use the picker button. Mentions use @.

Drafts

Drafts auto-save per channel to your browser's local storage as you type. Walk away from a channel mid-message and your draft is waiting when you come back on the same device. Drafts don't sync across devices.
