Every area in Carerealm gets its own channel automatically. It's the natural place for shift handovers, quick questions about that person, and care-team chatter that should stay focused on them.
Dynamic membership
You can't add or remove people from an area channel directly. Membership is derived from area access — grant someone access on the area's permissions page and they're in the channel within seconds. Revoke access and they drop out.
Where it lives
Area channels appear in their own Areas section in the sidebar, separate from your custom channels. They're also reachable from inside the area — the inbox link in any area's sidebar jumps you straight to it.
- If someone's missing from an area channel, check their area access on the area page. That's the source of truth, not the channel members list.
