Presence dots
Every avatar carries a small dot: green when the person has Carerealm open, grey when they're away. The dot updates live — you don't need to refresh.
Typing indicators
When someone is writing a message, you'll see "Sarah is typing…" just above the composer. Aware of multiple people — "Sarah and Tom are typing…" — and clears as soon as they stop or send.
Status messages
Click your avatar at the top of the inbox sidebar and pick Set a status. Pick an emoji from the picker (or use a quick preset like 💬 In a meeting, 🌴 On leave) and add a short message. Your status shows on your avatar everywhere in the platform until it expires or you clear it.
Statuses clear automatically — 30 minutes, an hour, today, this week, or never. Pick what fits.
