Receiving a delivery

Recording stock coming in from the pharmacy as a "received" movement.

Steps

  1. Open the area's eMAR → Stock.

  2. Click New movement.

  3. Pick the medication. Only medications already on the eMAR show in the picker.

  4. Set Movement type = Received.

  5. Enter the quantity received (doses / units).

  6. Notes — record the supplier, batch number, delivery-note reference, and any conditions. e.g. "Boots, batch B12345, DN 9876, refrigerated".

  7. Save. The stock balance for that medication updates immediately.

Good practice

  • Two-person check for controlled drugs. Use the Notes field to record who else verified the count (e.g. "Counted with J. Smith").

  • Compare to the delivery note before saving. If counts disagree, contact the pharmacy before signing off.

  • Photograph the delivery note and upload it to Files if you want to keep a copy attached to the area.

Note — Controlled drugs also need a CD register entry. The Stock movement records the count; the Controlled drug register records the legal transaction. Do both.
