Medication stock check is part of eMAR — open the area's eMAR app and click Stock in the sub-menu. Every medication on the eMAR has a running stock count fed by five movement types.
Movement types
Type | When to use |
|---|---|
Received | A delivery comes in — record the quantity received against the medication record. |
Disposed | Medication is destroyed (out of date, recalled, refused-and-returned). |
Returned | Stock is returned to the pharmacy. |
Adjustment | Correcting a counting error or a missed past movement. Use the Notes field to explain. |
Stock check | A physical count. Acts as a baseline going forward. |
Form fields
Each movement carries:
Medication — the eMAR medication record this movement is against.
Movement type — pick one of the five.
Quantity — number of doses/units.
Notes — supplier name, batch number, delivery-note number, witness, reason. Free text.
Heads up — Carerealm doesn't have dedicated batch-number, expiry-date or delivery-note-attachment fields on stock movements today. Capture that information in the Notes field. For delivery-note photos, upload them to Files separately.
Per-medication expiry
Expiry tracking lives on the medication record itself (not per batch). A medication has an expiry_date column and an auto_expired flag that flips when the date passes. See Expiry warnings.
