Funders and charge rates

Set up your commissioners (e.g. a local authority) with the hourly rate you invoice; changing it re-prices everyone on that funder.

A funder is whoever commissions and pays for the care you deliver — a local authority, an NHS framework, a private client, and so on. Each funder carries the hourly charge rate you invoice, and that rate drives the revenue forecast. Funders are admin-only and live under Settings → Staff Rota → Funders.

Adding a funder

Use the strip at the top of the page. Enter a name, the rate you charge per hour, pick a Colour to identify it, then add it. The rate is optional at this stage — you can leave it blank and fill it in later.

Editing a funder and its rate

Select any funder from the All funders list to open the editor. Here you can change the Funder name, the Rate (£/hr), the Colour, and add optional Notes (e.g. a contract reference or review date). The editor shows how many supported people currently use the funder.

Changing the rate re-prices every area on that funder in the revenue forecast — except anyone who has a per-person charge-rate override, which always wins.

Deleting a funder

Use the bin icon next to a funder to remove it. If people are assigned to it, they're simply unassigned — any per-person rate override they had is kept.

Step-by-step
  1. 1Open **Settings → Staff Rota → Funders** (admins only).
  2. 2In the **New funder** strip, type the funder's name (e.g. Surrey County Council).
  3. 3Enter the hourly rate you invoice in **Rate (£/hr)** (you can leave it blank for now).
  4. 4Pick a **Colour** to identify the funder.
  5. 5Select **Add funder**.
  6. 6To change a rate later, click the funder in the **All funders** list, edit **Rate (£/hr)**, then select **Save funder**.
Tips
  • A funder showing **No rate set** won't generate any forecast revenue until you add a rate.
  • A per-person charge-rate override always beats the funder's default — set overrides on the person's rota settings.
  • Use **Notes** to record the contract reference or next review date so the rate stays current.
