Mobile app and push notifications

How push works on the mobile app — messaging-only categories, OS controls, no in-app push toggle.

Enabling push on the mobile app

The first time you sign in to the mobile app, you're asked to allow notifications. Tap Allow. If you missed it, enable it later in your phone's system Settings under Carerealm → Notifications.

What pushes

Carerealm currently sends push notifications for messaging only:

  • Channel messages you're part of (Android "Messages" channel).

  • @-mentions (Android "Mentions" channel — higher priority, bypasses Do Not Disturb where the OS allows).

Note — Other categories (eMAR alerts, reminders, queued forms) don't push to mobile today — they surface in the in-app bell and (optionally) email.

Channel mute applies

Push respects your per-channel notification level. A muted channel doesn't push. A "mentions only" channel only pushes on @-you.

Quiet hours

Heads up — The backend supports quiet-hours scheduling, but the mobile app and web don't yet expose a UI to configure it. The realm-wide snooze (avatar menu → Snooze) is the user-facing alternative for time-limited quiet periods.
