Creating a MAR sheet

Set up a new MAR sheet with patient identity, allergies and validity window.

A MAR sheet is the per-period administration record — typically one sheet per 28-day period, though Carerealm doesn't enforce that.

Steps

  1. Open eMAR → Sheets.

  2. Click Create sheet.

  3. Patient identity — full name (patient_full_name), DOB, GP, NHS number.

  4. Patient allergies — free-text, kept alongside the structured allergies in the safety profile. Both are checked at administration.

  5. Sheet name — usually the date range (e.g. "May 2026 — period 5").

  6. Validity windowvalid_from / valid_until. Optional but recommended — recordings outside the window are flagged.

  7. Description — optional notes for the sheet.

  8. Save.

Note — Allergies typed here are independent of the safety profile. Update both when allergies change — see Settings: Patient safety profile.

Scheduled sheet creation

For services that run on a fixed cycle, set up a Scheduled sheets rule and Carerealm will auto-create each new sheet on schedule.
