Clocking in and out

Clock in and out of a shift on the web or mobile app, with the early-clock-in window and lateness grace explained.

When a shift is about to start, a Clock in button appears next to it so the system can record the hours you actually worked. You can clock in and out from My Shifts on the web, or from the mobile app — whichever you have to hand.

Where the buttons appear

Open My Shifts (or the mobile app's shifts list). The clock controls show up on a shift only when it's around its start time — from about half an hour before it begins until a couple of hours after it's due to end. Outside that window there's no button, so you can't accidentally clock in to a shift days away.

While you're on the clock you'll see a green Clocked in label, with Clock out alongside it.

The early clock-in window

Your organisation may set how early you're allowed to clock in. If you try before that window opens, you'll see a message like "Too early to clock in — you can clock in up to N minutes before your shift starts." Just wait until you're inside the window and try again.

Lateness grace

There's a short grace period after the start time (5 minutes by default). Clock in within that and you're on time; clock in later and your timesheet is flagged as late for your manager to see. The same idea applies at the end — clocking out well before the scheduled finish flags the shift as an early leave.

Clocking is per shift and one-way: once you've clocked out, that shift is complete and can't be clocked into again.

Step-by-step
  1. 1Open **My Shifts** on the web, or the shifts list in the mobile app.
  2. 2Find the shift you're starting — the clock controls appear near its start time.
  3. 3Tap **Clock in** (allow location access if your phone asks for it).
  4. 4Work your shift. Use **Start break** / **End break** for any breaks.
  5. 5When you finish, tap **Clock out** to record your hours.
Tips
  • If **Clock in** isn't showing yet, it's not your window yet — it appears shortly before the start time.
  • On mobile you can clock in even with no signal; the app saves the punch and syncs it once you're back online.
